At home

My home is a contemporary-classical interior rooted in the architecture of the house,layered with collected pieces, expressive colour, pattern and tactile materials. The brief was to make the spaces feel refined but relaxed, luxurious without being precious, and above all personal—full of character, history and a little glamour.

It was always important to me that it worked first and foremost as a family home.I wanted the rooms to be comfortable, sociable and genuinely usable, rather than feeling too formal or precious. The kitchen island has become the natural heart of the house, while the living spaces offer different places to sit,gather and spend time together. I deliberately mixed robust, practical elements with antiques, pattern and more refined materials, as I like a home to become richer through use rather than needing to remain pristine. For me, family life and good design aren't in opposition—the personality, comfort and slight informality that come with everyday living are an important part of what makesan interior feel complete.

Cottage charm

I approached this project with the intention ofcreating a home that felt contemporary, sophisticated and distinctly individual, while retaining a strong sense of decorative richness. I wanted the interiors to feel highly considered and beautifully crafted, but also warm, expressive and comfortable.

Contemporary artwork, unexpected colour combinations and sculptural objects sit alongside more classical references, creating a dialogue between old and new. There are subtle influences from Art Deco and mid-century design, particularly in the geometry, repeated arches, fluting and saturated colour, but I interpreted these references freely rather than allowing the project tobecome tied to a particular period.

Victorian elegance

I designed this home by balancing its historic architectural character with a sense of playfulness, colour and decorative richness. My intention was to create interiors that feel established and collected, while remaining warm, inviting and relevant to contemporary family life.

Throughout the house, I layered traditional detailing, bespoke textiles, dark polished timber, brass and gilt with Chinoiserie, botanical motifs and globallyinfluenced patterns. I wanted the opulence to feel quiet and considered rather than ostentatious — expressed through craftsmanship, beautiful materials and the individuality of each room rather than through excess.

Colour was an important part of creating continuity throughout the project. Soft blues, blush pinks, sage greens, ochres and warm neutrals sit alongside stronger moments of red, dark timber, black and gilt. I also worked with pattern atvarying scales — at times boldly and at others with considerable restraint —allowing the interiors to feel richly layered without becoming visually overwhelming.

Above all, I wanted the finished home to possess a sense of elegance, warmth and restrained opulence. I drew on the romance and decorative character of its Gothic heritage, introducing bespoke craftsmanship, expressive pattern and contemporary colour to create a home that feels both historically grounded and distinctly personal.
